Location and History

Bacco Estate is nestled in the picturesque winelands of South Africa, specifically in the Paarl region which is known for its rich terroir and favorable climate conditions. The vineyard spans 15 hectares, where sunlight ensures the grapes reach optimal ripeness. Founded by Nathan Jankelowitz, this winery embodies a family-inspired project aiming for international prominence in premium wine production. The estate embraces a philosophy of minimal intervention in winemaking, allowing the uniqueness of the site to shine through. The rich soils and meticulous viticulture practices contribute to the production of high-quality grapes, particularly suited for varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Malbec. With a commitment to sustainable farming and exceptional winemaking processes, Bacco produces a range of red blends and whites aimed at delivering exquisite quality.

Wine Tasting

The wine tasting experience at Bacco Estate invites visitors to explore a selection of wines, including the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec and a variety of blends that highlight the unique characteristics of their vineyards. The tasting room showcases the estate's offerings in a relaxed and beautiful setting, enabling guests to savour not only the wines but also culinary delights through Italian-inspired small plates known as cicchetti. The wines feature vibrant flavours and high quality, making it a perfect destination for both seasoned connoisseurs and those new to wine tasting. With diligent monitoring of their vineyards and careful crafting within the modern cellar, visitors can anticipate age-worthy wines that truly express the essence of their terroir. Bacco is one of about five farms in South Africa that produces 100% Vermentino.

The restaurant is open from Mondays to Sundays, allowing visitors to enjoy delicious meals designed to pair harmoniously with the wines. Guests can indulge in an array of Italian-inspired dishes, crafted by Chef Carla Jankelowitz, who brings Le Cordon Bleu training to the kitchen.
