Nestled in the tranquil Darling Hills, Contreberg Farm spans 352 hectares and features granite soils complemented by the refreshing Atlantic sea breeze. Established in the early 1800s by the Dutch East India Company, the farm originally catered to passing trade with fresh produce and livestock. Over the years, it has remained in the Pretorius Versfeld family for much of the last century. The scenic beauty of the farm is enhanced with wildflowers that bloom vibrantly during spring, creating an enchanting atmosphere. Currently, the farm is focused on sustainable agricultural practices, promoting environmental conservation, and protecting local flora. A private nature reserve on the property enhances its biodiversity, housing various species and the rare Pterygodium Cruciform orchid, known for its unique pollination by a Renosterveld oil-collecting bee.
