Eikendal Vineyards is situated in the scenic Raithby area between Somerset West and Stellenbosch, along the R44 route. Established in 1981 by the Saager family from Switzerland, this vineyard benefits from the unique microclimate of the Helderberg ward, renowned for producing some of the finest wines in the Cape. Cool sea breezes, combined with an excellent soil structure, contribute to the winery’s exceptional terroir. The vineyard primarily cultivates classic grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay, with some of the oldest vines dating back to 1987. The farm's winemaking philosophy blends modern viticulture techniques with Old World practices, showcasing the land's characteristics. Visitors are treated to stunning views of the Helderberg Mountain and the lush surrounding vineyards, making Eikendal a picturesque destination for wine enthusiasts.
