Winery Description

Location and History

Nestled in the picturesque Helderberg region, Ernie Els Wines enjoys a prime position epitomising scenic beauty and top-quality viticulture. With dramatic views of Cape Town, Table Mountain, and the surrounding Helderberg Mountains, the estate is a representation of the rich terroir of Stellenbosch. The vineyards thrive on north-facing slopes at an altitude of about 250 meters, benefiting from the cooling influence of the nearby Atlantic Ocean. This unique climate extends the ripening period, allowing grapes to achieve optimal phenolic maturity. Founded in 2005, the winery has undergone significant renovations, transforming it into a landmark of the Helderberg region. The vision of Ernie Els and winemaking legend Louis Strydom guides the philosophy of producing high-quality wines, with a particular focus on varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and blends reflecting the estate's distinctive terroir and meticulous winemaking processes.
