Recommended by Restaurant Guru in 2022, Luka Vineyards offers guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy stunning views over the vineyard, Elephant Park, and the mountains beyond. Guests can savour award-winning Luka wine, along with a selection of local wines, bubbly, beer, and gin. Small to medium-sized dogs on a lead are welcome, with outside service available.
Nestled in Harkerville, Luka Vineyards is part of the emerging Plettenberg Bay wine region, which is gaining recognition for its pinot noir, sauvignon blanc, and Méthode Cap Classique wines. This area is abundant in natural beauty, surrounded by lush landscapes, mountains, and rivers, providing a stunning backdrop for visitors. The vineyard’s owners, Laura and Philip Harvey, transitioned from a yacht manufacturing business to winemaking, motivated by a passion for sustainable living and healthy food. Their journey embodies the spirit of the vineyard, known for its Mandala logo, symbolising their commitment to ethical practices. The farm has been carefully developed into a sanctuary where both locals and tourists can connect with nature while enjoying the fruits of their labor. The Harveys embrace a philosophy that emphasises local produce and sustainable agricultural practices, allowing them to cultivate high-quality grapes while respecting the environment and community.
Wine Tasting
The vineyard’s focus is on artisanal winemaking practices that involve minimal intervention and a commitment to organic methods. The venue provides a welcoming atmosphere where individuals and families alike can enjoy the relaxed setting. The wine farm focuses on producing Sauvignon Blanc and wine tastings are by appointment.
Restaurant
Guests can enjoy the green space in front of the restaurant or indoors, featuring breakfast, small plates, platters and a variety of main course dishes, as well as pizza. Picnics are also available. Luka Vineyards provides a beautiful venue for special occasions, family gatherings, or weddings. The venue is child-friendly, with a play area, ample parking, and wheelchair accessibility. The small farm shop offers locally made and produced items, fresh farm produce, and Luka Vineyards wine in elegant gift boxes, along with other bespoke products.
Wine Tasting is by appointment, while the restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday to Sunday.
