Winery Description

Location and History

Situated near Wellington in the scenic Western Cape, Napier Vineyards benefits from a unique terroir characterized by well-drained soils and a Mediterranean climate ideal for viticulture. Founded in 1989 and named after Sir George Napier, an influential figure in the abolition of slavery in the region, the winery remains in the hands of its family owners. Currently led by German wine entrepreneur Carl Reh, the estate spans over 25 hectares of meticulously tended vineyards. Under the expertise of winemaker Leon Bester, the winery has forged a philosophy that blends the old world's complexity with a new world approach, ensuring that every bottle reflects both heritage and innovation.
