Niel Joubert Wines, situated close to Paarl on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain, is a fifth-generation, family-owned wine farm. Wine Tasting is by appointment, Monday to Friday. The tasting room is in the cellar, opposite the Cape Dutch style manor house. The Joubert family has owned the property since 1898, when Piet Joubert acquired Klein Simonsvlei primarily for fruit farming. His son Daniel later joined the business, followed by third-generation Niel Joubert, who took over management in 1950. Although the farm had grown grapes since its early years, wine production expanded considerably after Daan Joubert assumed responsibility in 1981. In 1994, the wine range was named Niel Joubert Wines in honour of the third-generation family patriarch.

The extensive wine and fruit farm stretches across five hills and includes ten dams fed by a natural mountain spring, with varied soils and ample water supporting both vineyards and orchards. Alongside vineyards, the farm produces apples, pears, peaches, plums, citrus fruit and blueberries. Its varied elevations and soils allow the farm to match grape varieties to suitable sites.
