Stony Brook Vineyards

Winery Description

Location and History

The McNaught family's journey into winemaking began in the late 1980s when Nigel and Joy McNaught fell in love with Franschhoek. Their passion for the area led them to purchase a piece of land, where they embarked on crafting premium-quality wines that captured the essence of the region and the wine styles that inspired them.

After several years, the McNaughts sold their initial farm and sought a smaller property that would allow them to pursue their winemaking dream. 1995, they acquired an old fruit farm, now known as Stony Brook. Focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Semillon, and Chardonnay, the family replanted the entire farm with vines and constructed a small cellar to produce the first wines under the Stony Brook label.
Visitors to the vineyard can experience superb wine tastings and warm hospitality just 5 kilometers outside the picturesque village of Franschhoek, an hour's drive from Cape Town.
