Location and History
Summerhill Wine Estate in Stellenbosch traces its origins to 1837, when the land was granted to JG Snyman. Recognising the fertility of the soil of the slopes at Summerhill, Snyman saw the potential for cultivating vineyards and producing exceptional wines. Today, the estate is owned by the second generation of the Hunting family. Charles and Ingrid Hunting, custodians of this boutique wine farm, remain deeply committed to preserving its legacy, taking great pride in the personal care they devote to the vines.
Wine Tasting
There are currently five wines that can be tasted at Summerhill, including Chenin Blanc, Shiraz and Merlot, as well as an MCC.
Restaurant
Visitors to Summerhill can choose from a variety of pizzas and hamburgers.
Accommodation
Tours and Activities
Summerhill has a chapel as well as a large function venue. Kids can enjoy feeding the ducks on the lake. There is safe parking available for cyclists and bikers.
