Location and History

TESTALONGA is situated in the scenic Paardeberg region, known for its unique terroir characterized by granite and sandstone soils. Craig and Carla Hawkins, the owners, established the winery in 2008 and sought to create a distinctive wine experience. They have a combined 11 hectares of organically farmed vineyards in Paardeberg, with additional 4 hectares in Piketberg, where they focus on cultivating Mediterranean grape varieties. The acquisition of Bandits Kloof farm in Swartland in 2015 marked a significant expansion in their operations. The first vineyards were planted at this location in 2018, further diversifying their offerings and emphasizing their commitment to organic winemaking. Emphasizing a natural winemaking approach, TESTALONGA captures the essence of the unique landscapes they cultivate and the philosophy they uphold in their vinification processes.
