Wine Tasting
Tierhoek's vineyards thrive in an ideal setting, with a unique climate, soils, and aspect that produce premium wines known for their intense fruit flavours, subtle minerality, and fresh acidity.
The estate's flagship wine is the Chenin Blanc, crafted from low-yielding 30-year-old trellised vines. Barrel fermented in French oak, it showcases the full flavours of the variety while maintaining complexity and elegance. Some of these Chenin Blanc grapes are naturally dried off the vine for several weeks before being barrel fermented to create Tierhoek's straw wine.
Additionally, the unwooded Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache Noir are among the finest examples of their kind in South Africa. All Tierhoek wines benefit from bottle ageing, enhancing their quality over time.
