Location and History

Nestled in the picturesque Cape Winelands, Vergenoegd Löw The Wine Estate boasts stunning panoramas of Table Mountain, the Helderberg Mountains, and the Atlantic Ocean. The farm's rich soil, enriched by sea fossils and lime, provides a unique terroir for high-quality wine production. It was established in 1696 when land was granted to Pieter de Vos by the Dutch East India Company. Throughout its history, the estate has changed ownership, including significant contributions from the Faure family, renowned for their wine-making expertise. In 2015, the farm was acquired by Prof. Dr. Peter Löw, who has revitalized it into a sophisticated wine estate while preserving its cultural heritage and embracing sustainability. Vergenoegd Löw is a member of the European Heritage Project and is recognized as a WWF Conservation Champion for its ecological contributions and commitment to responsible farming practices.
