Villiera Wines

Winery Description

Location and History

Villiera is a pioneering quality wine company committed to preserving the environment and have been rewarded with membership to the Biodiversity of Wine Initiative. They specialise in Cap Classique and have a strong reputation for Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Cousins Jeff and Simon Grier started the family-owned business in 1983, embarking on an extensive replanting of classic and local varietals. The introduction of hi-tech cellar facilities for the production of still wines (as well as Méthode Cap Classique) combined with a unique wine business philosophy has seen Villiera developing into one of the largest private wineries in the country.

Wine Tasting

For over 30 years, the Grier family has been unlocking the marvels of nature to create the distinctive wines and sparkling wines that bear the family name. Their range of wines includes Villiera, The Clan, Monro, Tradition, Down to Earth, Jasmine and Dak Wijn. All wines are vegan-friendly. Visitors are welcome to the Wine Tasting Room, known as The Wine Sanctuary. Weather permitting, guests can also sit outside on the terrace and enjoy a tasting under the shade of some very old oak trees.

The Standard Wine Tasting gives guests the opportunity to taste up to 6 wines from the Villiera Range (and/or Domaine Grier). Reserve Wines are available for tasting at an additional fee, please call for more information.
