Wildekrans Wine Estate

Winery Description

Location and History

Originally established as a mixed farming operation, Wildekrans has transformed into an estate known for its international award-winning wines. The cool terroir of this picturesque farm was soon recognised for its potential to produce grapes of the highest quality expressions.

Set among fields of indigenous Renosterbos (‘Rhinoceros-bush,’ a flowering plant), Wildekrans is celebrated for its award-winning wines, olive oils, and dining experiences. The estate also offers country cottages and a variety of outdoor activities for nature lovers and biking/hiking enthusiasts.

Wine Tasting

Wildekrans wines are featured in two main ranges: the signature premium Barrel Select Reserve Range and the classic Estate Range and there are three wine tasting options to choose from. In the intimate Tasting Room, a Wildekrans wine ambassador guides visitors through the tasting process, discusses the wines, and answers any questions. The Tasting Room offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with an undercover terrace providing a lovely vantage point to admire the farm's stunning views. A cheese or charcuterie board is also available.

Restaurant

The destination restaurant at Wildekrans offers a country gourmet experience, ideal for special occasions, exquisite food, and relaxed family dining. Guests can choose to dine on the terrace, which provides a spectacular setting and memorable ambiance, or enjoy the beautiful decor inside with a fascinating view of the kitchen and pass. Reservations are strongly recommended.

The menu showcases a true Overberg food experience with taste-driven signature dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients. Sample menu items include Citrus Cured Sea Bass, Karoo Wagyu Beef, Pancetta Roasted Quail, Wild Mushroom Gnocchi, and a selection of desserts.
