The history dates back to 1791, when German immigrant Philippus Wolvaart acquired 49 hectares of land in the Paarl Valley. He named the property Nederburgh in honor of VOC commissioner Sebastian Cornelis Nederburgh. The cellar is home to a talented team of winemakers and a viticulturist who expertly craft acclaimed wines year after year.

We are proud to have been registered as an Estate in 2019. Vintages onwards will be labelled as Estate Wine, confirming that the wine was bottled and produced on the estate and that the wine is produced only from grapes grown on the farm.
